L O B E L I A
Welcome.
My name is Erik Lobelius, and I am certified in both structural and visceral osteopathy from the Swiss International College of Osteopathy (SICO), where I also became a craniosacral therapist in 2020. I hold a Bachelor’s degree (BSc) in osteopathic science from the Accademia Italiana Medicina Osteopatica (AIMO), the Italian Academy of Osteopathic Science.
My goal is to provide care that supports both body and mind through holistic treatment methods, and I look forward to helping you achieve your optimal health and balance.
When we strive towards balance in actions and attitude while appreciating the physical, emotional and social effects this process signifies.
Then we can engage in the process of
healing.
OSTEOPATHY
Osteopatic manual treatment is a system of assessing, diagnosing and treatment alleviating pain and preventing a wide range of health problems. By shifting the focus from treating a illness to working actively with promoting health. Major principles of osteopathic treatment are the following:
The body is an integrated unit of mind, body, and spirit.
The body possesses self-regulatory mechanisms, having the inherent capacity to defend, repair, and remodel itself.
Structure and function are reciprocally interrelated.
Rational therapy is based on consideration of the first three principles.
Our bodies strive towards balance through intricate interrelationships between our organsystems. Ading to this we take into concideration the balance in the muskeloskeletal system and fascial chains aswell as the input from the central nervous system. In an Osteopathic evaluation & treatment we aim to identify the factors that alter this holistic balance and aid the patient to integrate the inherently known state of equilibrium. The osteopath will take the time to understand their patient, and their unique combination of symptoms, medical history and lifestyle. This helps to make an accurate diagnosis of the causes of the pain or lack of function (rather than just addressing the site of the condition), and from that, to formulate a treatment plan that will achieve the best outcome.
CRANIO SAKRAL
Centrally in our body we find the central nervous system; brain and spinal cord.
Through protective membranes, these structures are attached internally to central parts of the skeleton: the cranium, spine and sacrum.
In addition to other vital functions performed in the cranio-sacral system, it is also a closed system where generation, fluctuation and reabsorption of the cerebral spinal fluid occur.
The treatment consist of suggestions of movements for the body where the normal function of dissociation have been impaired.
Based on the body's response, we enter into a dialog with the patient's system to allow expression and release of tension.
Craniosakral therapy induces a deep relaxing state that resets the nervous system and offers the patient a chance to leave old stress-inducing behaviour patterns behind.
